Lost my office job and started going to stenography school, but I want to be working in the meantime. How do I go about applying at a local brewery or bar if they dont have anywhere to apply online? Do I show up with my resume and a firm handshake like a boomer? I also considered my neighborhood sex shop

Yeah you gotta apply the old school way. May I ask why you lost your job?

Our company was acquired some years back by another company in Illinois, but we continued to operate out of California. In 2023 they shut down our office and moved everyone remote, and then last month they rounded everyone from California up and let us go

You're going to have to be a barback first, or dishwasher at worst. It is super rare to get a job as a bartender just by asking for the job. You can try dive bars if you really want your chances to be high

unless you know someone running the place, you're not going to get hired as a bartender with 0 experience. it just won't happen. the best you can hope for is to be hired as a busser/barback and slowly work your way up to be one.
