I'm a 25-year-old Canadian and I've been unemployed for 2 years now. It's been making me really depressed on top of other issues.

I've applied online and in person. I follow up over the phone or sometimes I go in person again. My background is in construction (HVAC) and I've visited all the contractor offices in my city, but not a single one has reached back out to me. Not even shitty retail jobs or McDonald's will hire me. The only replies I get are from dataminers, automated emails, and those shitty AI interviews where you talk to yourself in front of a webcam.

What am I doing wrong? Because I just think like the new Pajeet slave class in Canada have really shit up the job market. I've changed my resume a million times, used different resumes for different jobs, added a cover letter, etc. I've been to three different job agencies and others have said my resume looks good, but I'm not getting any results.

My last job was working as an apprentice HVAC guy doing sheet metal, but I only worked there for a month because the company went broke. Before that, I was working in retail while doing my preapprenticeship training at a trade school. I also have some general labour construction experience too.

Do you have a LinkedIn profile? Fill it with your experience, such as it is, including pictures. Search for prospective employers and message them asking for advice (not direct applications).

That is, search for them on LinkedIn.

Sorry for the late reply.

No. Is that a viable option for the trades? I thought LinkedIn was more geared towards white-collar jobs. It's worth a try, I guess.

Brother I'm the exact same age as you and a Leaf too. You live in Ontario? It's pretty fucking bad here. I've been unemployed for about a year and a half now even though I have a college degree and a years worth of co-op experience in my field. I was thinking of getting my brokers license just so I could get a better chance of any job in my field but even then I worry spending 1K on a fast track course won't get me a job. It's all about who you know these days. Hell on Earth if you're socially awkward or autistic.

Same issue here bro. 31 with a masters and all I'm getting is either rejections or pejeets trying to get me on telegram to steal my info.

7 months in with at least over 150-200 places I've applied to. Try volunteer work in the mean time to help increase your experiences.

Same. 24 with a bachelors, even after getting certifications post grade I can't even get entry level roles. Wish I knew what I was doing wrong but sadly applications are all just scanned by an AI so I can't even ask the employer what I can do to be a better candidate.
