Yes; blindness. No, you cannot.
It’s a low chance but it’s there, around the same as dying from anaesthesia.

The eye heals even if they fuck up and they probably won't, but the eye heals from the procedure too after like a decade and you can only get it 0-2x depending on how thick your eye lens is. We'll probably have better more permanent options like custom built surgically implanted eye lens in a decade or two. I'm thinking about getting LASIK.

you will never be able to live in Phoenix or other desert places without eye drops every 10 or 15 minutes. the flap they cut literally dries up with aridity and is just as uncomfortable as an unwet contact lens

The flap can come undone. Don't do it, you're gonna need glasses again anyways.
