It's like anything else, once you can put it aside in the silence and make space for other things that are present then you will be in the best state of mind. And when she is around you can be present but you don't have to be anything for her, just be your most self and observe her and react how you want.
If you can do that, you'll be fine, if not, well go the long way around, all good my man.
