I haven't had a genuine conversation with anyone in years so please recommend with unironic tips to start making friends, please and thanks. Me again (ha!). Serious. Okay. Actually, my view of irl vs online is a bit more nuanced than what I said before: Irl is interactive while online can be asynchronous. Whether you prefer one or the other does depend on whether you need to ponder your words, as in a *serious* conversation, or can engage in frivolous repartee, like at a party. Speaking for myself, serious conversation is only possible one-on-one, as at a dinner table in a quiet place with an intelligent date.
