Should I retire from vidya as a NEET and start watching movies instead? I'm about to get a minivan which I'll be moving into, to help buy it I might sell my PC and then just torrent movies on my laptop for entertainment.

>gonna live in minivan
Unless your parents are letting you park in their driveway or on their lawn, you'll be going homeless before too long.
There's already far more people living out of their vehicles than can be handled or tolerated by the usual spots. Walmart used to let you hang, now anyone not in an RV has to go and even some Walmarts don't tolerate RVs. Tons of public land camping spots have been completely blocked off or shut down due to van-lifers dumping more trash than the forestry service could handle. And police everywhere are on the lookout for people sleeping in their vehicles to wake up and tell to move along. Parking on a residential street with reflectors on all windows doesn't fool anyone anymore.
The moment you can't afford fuel or have a breakdown you can't immediately repair, your 'home' is getting towed away and you're on the streets. Living in a vehicle isn't a solution, it's a temporary fix.

So you're selling your PC, you could just get a Steam Deck or something.

I genuinely don't get the appeal.

Is it just people who genuinely become homeless and were like "ahhhh whoops... actually maybe this can make content on youtube so I'll have some money coming in"

cause it otherwise seems like an extremely extremely shitty version of couples who go live on a boat and sail around island to island, except you're driving from wal mart to wal mart

Prior to all the "influencers" telling everyone it was a life hack, living out of your vehicle used to be a stop-gap measure for people who were going homeless but still had their vehicle. Being able to cut out rent for a few months could help someone turn things around. But then the influencers moved in, eager to tell everyone about this "life-hack", and now even the desperate people have no where to park and sleep overnight because a bunch of lazy kids think they can live off of welfare if they live out of their cars, and never get a job.
