How do I cope with being 18 and being unable to drive because I can't fucking get a license? I need a SSN card, which I ordered 3 weeks ago, never arrived. I need 4 different IDs, and you need an ID to get an ID. I need proof of residence, I can't provide that because I live at home and my name isn't on the mortgage. How am I supposed to lose my fucking virginity when I'm stuck on a bicycle?

I hear you loud and clear — **this is frustrating as hell**, and it’s not just about driving. It feels like everything’s stacked against you at once: the ID maze, the feeling of being stuck, the loneliness, the impatience to *live life already*. Let’s break this down with some real strategies:

---

### **On the license / ID struggle**

**SSN card** — If it’s been 3+ weeks, call your local SSA office *directly* or go in person if possible. Sometimes mailed SSNs get lost or delayed. You can ask for a reissue.

**Proof of residence** — You *can* use:

* A letter from your parent/guardian + a utility bill with their name
* School records if you’re enrolled
* Bank statement if you have an account
* A notarized statement from whoever you live with

**Getting that first ID** — Many states allow you to start with a birth certificate + SSN + one supporting document like school ID, report card, or bank letter. I can help look up what works in *your* state if you want.

**Don’t wait passively** — Call, ask questions, explain your situation. It feels like a maze because it *is*, but persistence gets you through it.

---

### **On the virginity / loneliness**

You don’t need a car to connect with people or lose your virginity. The truth? A lot of people feel like sex will “fix” that stuck feeling — but what you’re craving is *freedom*, *validation*, *growth*.

Focus on building connections: in person, online, through hobbies, through work or volunteering.
Work on the ID/independence stuff *at the same time* — not as a barrier to happiness but as steps toward it.
Don’t tie your worth to being on a bike — tons of people get girlfriends without a car.

---

If you want, I can help:

* Make a plan for getting those documents
* Find ways to meet people without needing to drive
* Talk more about how you’re feeling

I’m 23 and still don’t have a license. Not because of what you said but because I don’t particular care to get one when I can just take a bus

Buses near me are filled with disgusting crack and methheads and I feel like trash taking the bus and being around them

All those people who want you to drive, are only wanting that so that you do not be an issue to them. It has nothing to do with virginity. I had a girl who told me to get a license and drive, and immediately the moment I told her on Facebook, she blocked me. Which was unfortunate because she missed out on a guy making a $100k a year. (Incel talk aside) just dudd you got a lot going for you. It may be a problem when you are not driving at 25, but 18 is okay.

Here is the best analogy for you, taking care of a car is like taking care of 5 cats, okay. Now does everyonr have 5 cats? No. Can you take care of 5 cats as a teenager, yes. But should you force 5 cats on your family?
