besides trying novel/extremely hard things, or trying new things, how can you slow your perception of time as much as possible? lately ive been thinking of time a lot more than i probably should, and how it all washes over us and death comes to us all. how the fuck do i slow my perception of time to make the most out of my worthless pathetic nothing life?

There is no way except to give every action and every day meaning and intentionality. Time flies not when you're having fun but when you're not paying attention, either through life becoming routine with you just going through the motions, or that you turn your brain off and disassociate to deal with your circumstances because you find little value or meaning in what you're doing. You doomscroll, you watch pointless and uninteresting shows, you waste your time trying to distract yourself from how much time you're wasting, you work a dead-end job and don't have a clear vision of your goals, or aren't able to appreciate the progress you're making to get to them, you do things out of necessity and obligation but not joy or intrigue, you view the future as "someday" and not something you're building every single moment, you generally just aren't ever present, in the moment, with yourself. The clock doesn't tick when you stop to smell the roses. Don't "get through" the day, make something of the day. Stop, consider, plan, incrementally get there with every motion, and every motion will have value. You're only here when you choose to be here, when you're somewhere else it all slips by you.

If you like Sci-fi read the MultiVAC series by Isaac Asimov, they're short, interesting and easily digestible in a sitting. Also recommend "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin, basically a predecessor to 1984 and other books of the genre like Fahrenheit 451.
