Absolutely, it's over and you should never even try especially if you're only 18 and haven't experienced life at all yet. Failure is always guaranteed and there's no such thing as a late bloomer or self improvement.

Seriously though, get off 4chan and go do some socializing. Volunteer, ask the cute chick with tattoos there out to the movies, go take a cooking course or something.

Live before resigning yourself to failure.

They mean going to college and never interacting with anyone besides a few male friends , then graduating and doing the same thing during a 9-5 job. Very fun stuff.

That first week living alone.
Burning a marshmallow infront of a girl you like.
The first bite into a greasy burger after a hangover.
The quiet confidence of quitting a job you hate to move on to better things.
The great taste of Charleston Chew.
Finding a cat named timing belt under the hood of your car and loving them fiercely for years.
Your friend confiding in you that he's getting married.
Singing like there's nobody around just for someone to hear you and giggle.

Experiencing life is accepting the weird little happenings and memorable events that come to you, embracing the unpredictability and rolling with the good or the bad times.

all interesting, but how is that supposed to get you out of a situation like OPs? is the solution to socialize more instead of just with "the same few people"?

> the first week of living alone
i don't see how that's special if you can already do that in college.

> hangover
drinking isn't fun, so i don't

> Charleston Chew
this is a funny anecdote but doesn't explain why younger people "can't complain" because they "haven't experienced anything yet" — and then the anything, as you've said here, is just jobs and more of the same mediocrity

>how is that supposed to get you out of a situation like OPs? is the solution to socialize more instead of just with "the same few people"?
You fuckin nailed it there my friend. The more people you meet the better your odds are at finding YOUR people. Gotta try new things to meet new folks.

>drinking isn't fun, so i don't
Wise. I love booze but you're smarter to avoid it.

>this is a funny anecdote
Glad I could bring you a little joy there
>but doesn't explain why younger people "can't complain"
Never said young people can't complain, shit is pretty rough right now and I'd be a hypocrite to say they can't complain if I do. What I said is that it was not "over" because OP is lonely at 18 and then tried to give some suggestions on how to fix that.

>because they "haven't experienced anything yet"
They haven't, life after 18 gets interesting real quick; like getting out of the tutorial.

> and then the anything, as you've said here, is just jobs and more of the same mediocrity
Life does have a lot of jobs and mediocrity, but if that's all you see out of it you're going to be miserable. You can find a job you enjoy or people you enjoy doing a shitty job with, you can be bitter about living in an apartment or you can have a really dope apartment, you can complain about the prices of food or you can learn how to cook really fucking well for really fucking cheap. You can complain about people being terrible or you can find the people who aren't.

You're justified in bitching about things as they are, but if you're gonna complain then you better be willing to put in the work to fix what you can.
