I'm a first-year resident in a medical specialty. During a party, a self-proclaimed BPD fourth-year resident from the same specialty seemed to have a crush on me, and we ended up flirting all night in front of other coworkers. People saw us leave together. I took her home, and we made out for the rest of the night, but I refused to have sex.
Now, it feels like everyone hates me for getting involved with her at the party. People are saying the bond between the first-year residents is ruined, and apparently, itโs my fault โ even though no one has said it directly. The thing is, several people, especially women, warned me beforehand about the possible consequences.
What should I do now?
