I told my roommate not to close the bathroom door after showering so that the hot air and moisture can dissipate (the fan isn't working), and he retorted by saying that mold might spread outside of the bathroom (which has never happened), and that the room gets hotter (boo-hoo). Oh, and also he said that the bathroom smells like mold?! It doesn't, it hasn't smelled like mold ever since I cleaned it - it took me three consecutive weekends to do so, the bathroom was in a disgusting state (it was literally BLACK, with moss growing out of the grout) thanks to my roommate closing the door constantly while I was gone. The only foul smell there currently is the smell from his used toilet paper, sitting in the bin. I explained to him that the mold won't spread and he should leave it open. I didn't tell him about the foul smell coming from the bin, nor did I remind him of who cleaned the bathroom last time, which I probably should have.
I'm getting tired of this. I already told him a while ago to keep the bathroom door open after showering and I don't like repeating myself. I don't expect him to clean the bathroom, but I do expect him to respect my work and not get the bathroom to the vile state it used to be in. He eventually said 'OK' to my request, but I'm not sure if he'll keep his word.
Any suggestions? I'm trying to resolve this peacefully, but this kid doesn't seem to respect me. I think it's quite audacious of him to argue with me, when I was the one who cleaned his mess.
