I created this character called Jack (pic rel) as the protagonist of a comic I am working on. I want him to experience suffering and trauma in the comic.

My current ideas are:

Having him get whipped
Having him get waterboarded
Having him be completely naked in front of loads of girls

What do you think of these ideas I have so far?

Having idea's for scenes are good and all, but making them work with and overall narrative, makes those moments hit harder.

Why is Jack going through all this? Did he do something? Are people just dog-pilling on him? Why? Does he have preconceptions about BDSM culture and decides to 'give it a go'? Only to discover he likes being a sub and then dives into the rabbit hole of crazier and crazier acts?

idk, but simply going; here's a character, read about them getting abused non-stop for the sake of it, will fall very flat to most people.

Jack looks like a faggot with self-harm scars who was already traumatized and would take most things without really being bothered. You should stop trying to be edgy and instead force him to untangle the psychological web of his past trauma to get some actual substance out of him.
