HR sent me a spreadsheet of everyone's salary in benefit (I have a name similar to someone else in HR). I naturally looked at it and saw that I was one of the lowest paid employees despite my experience and workload. People who started way after me are making more money.

The company has a strict no raises outside of the annual raise policy. Can I get in trouble for forwarding the email to everyone on the floor?

LOL
Man fuck that company SHARE IT
Make some lame but plausible excuse like "Well if it got shared to me it seems like it must have been okay to spread around. If it was sensitive or secret HR wouldn't have sent it to me"

I should have mentioned it has PII like SSN and DOBs on it. I figured I could censor it but then I wouldn't be able to play to stupid that I didn't know what it was.

Oh that makes the call wayy tougher
Could try and be sneaky with it instead and try and find some grounds to sue the company on using the information contained within. Or on the grounds they let it slip outside of HR at all??
Or I mean yeah if you hate your coworkers to death or something just share it anyway lmaooooooo. Total fuck-you. Ultimate fuck-you for the company.

I like my coworkers. I hate my company. Would this make them angry?

This wouldn't make them *angry* at you so much as it would throw them all into states of panic and disarray. Having your super private info leaked is TERRIFYING.
Now what you could do to get the best of both worlds is maybe send the censored data to everyone via some kind of proxy email or alt email? I have no idea if your company uses a closed email group or something so that might not be viable. But if there IS a way to just get the payment info (and similar stuff) out there, it'll be good for everyone except the company. Since workers appreciate knowing where they stand in relation to everyone else and it gives them bargaining power.

This really does feel too good to waste

Yes, but remove the columns containing sensitive information and do it from guerillamail.
Send it to your own work email too, of course

Telling your coworkers how much everyone makes is based. But spreading authentic payroll documentation could get you sued.

Think of a way to tell everyone without spreading legally protected documents.

Or... just confront your company about the pay situation and tell them you're leaving. Don't be a sucker. You want to make less money just to keep your "corporate family" together?

Well time to demand a 20% raise then. If they say no, find another company.

Forwarding the e-mail is just self sabotage and fucking retarded.

Honestly, anon, do what I did. I demanded a raise, and when I didn't get it, I quit, since I already had another job lined up with a bigger salary. You don't owe loyalty to the company. Be a mercenary.

The only problem with this is that when they do a self-audit to find the source of the leak, they will find that OP incorrectly had the spreadsheet sent to him, automatically making him the #1 suspect.

Ask for a raise
Say you will leak it if you get fired. Cost of giving you a raise < cost of everyone asking for a raise.
