Something that would deter them from coming onto my property and spraying.

Someone is probably feeding them. Maybe you can put them in your car and drive a few miles away? They might have kittens or something though.

Nobody replied to my post about cats in the catalog, so I'll reply here. There is probably a person nearby who works at a no kill shelter, they're releasing the cats into the wild for others to deal with. They killed one of my chickens, so I deal with the cat in the same manner.

Don't make them another person's problem.

That was interesting but much too complicated.

I think I will get a high performance water gun and play the waiting game.

I believe you can order fox piss online. I've read that you can spray your yard with fox piss to keep cats away. Or get a dog.

Ah yeah that is a financial problem.
Delegate your problems OP. A fence that keeps medium-large dogs out (or in) is easier to make than a catproof fence. Make a donut out of dog-proof fence and keep the dog in the donut and the chickens in the donut hole.
Also dogs are cool, making chicken-protection a reasonable excuse for getting an outdoor dog.
Get a dog suited to your climate, give it a nice house with tons of clean fresh water (can share water with the chickens in my experience).
