due to mental illness i have a very hard time doing the things i have to do and things i used to like
meds don't help, therapy doesn't help, supplements (nac) worked for a while but don't work anymore, i haven't tried diet changes yet
i'll try nac + omega 3 in the incoming days
any other schizophrenic managed to reduce their avolition, and if so, how

Quit taking your meds. Antipsychotics cause it.

you might need to find a new psychiatrist that will be willing to work with you to come up with creative solutions. i don't have schizophrenia (though i think i might be kinda closer to it than normal desu), and i have extreme issues with avolition/motivational anhedonia that have only gotten worse over time. i have found stimulants taken at clinical doses to alleviate this issue for me almost completely, however that's probably a bit risky to do with someone that has schizophrenia. might be worth investigating, though.

Don't have a solution but have schizoaffective and completely relate, I don't have drive or motivation to do anything unless I'm manic, I hope you can figure out anon

Thanks for the anecdote, this is sorta relevant to me cus I take wellbutrin which isn't exactly a stimulant but acts like one a bit
