If I'm interested in a girl my mind can't formulate conversations because it starts rushing with shit like wondering if I'm being too inquisitive or coming through too serious.

If the goal is to get to know someone, what questions do you make, and how do you balance looking laid back (when you clearly are autistic)? Should I ask plainly if the only question I have in my mind is asking whether she's dating someone or not?

Fine. The abscence of an answer is also an answer. I'll get it off my chest. I looked through old photos and found a girl I liked a long time ago who I overlooked because of oneitis. Since a lot of time passed since I last saw her I was hoping I could contact her and catch up. She must be busy with work, if she doesn't get the ball rolling at some point when she's home I will assume there's no interest. If I ask whether she has a boyfriend it will be a death sentence. If I ask her out to catch up and she picks up, that's next step. If she ignores then that's that.

It's weird that you're perceptive enough to understand this, but not perceptive enough to see this applies equally to contacting a girl inorganically from a long time ago. They don't like that! Move on and find a different girl to start a connection with now.
