I've been a toe-walker for my entire life, whether it's related to autism or not is irrelevant, but I went to physical therapy for years in middle school attempting to learn to walk right with little success, my feet and muscles simply adapted to the way I walked.
Picrel is what happens to every pair of shoes I've ever owned after 3-6 months at best. I try to focus on walking the normal way but walking on my toes still feels more natural to me and I usually just unconsciously go back to it. I don't really have too many people who call me out on it anymore but I'd still like my shoes to stop wearing down so quickly.
Is there literally anything I can do about this at this point?

I used to put so much pressure on the ball of my feet that I would burn through all of my socks and the insoles of my shoes. Never did I put enough pressure to burn through the outsole though. Anyway, I had my foot scanned and got prescription shoe inserts and have been fine ever since. They costed like 600 dollars

I would consider myself a heavy walker who definitely puts more pressure on the arch/ball of the foot than anywhere else. But like >>33335514 said, I've never gone for inserts because i worried about it being expensive or useless but I'm willing to try them.

All you have to do is walk the other way. wtf? I believe that we are all toe walkers and learn to shoe walk. I toe run when I don’t have shoes. Whoever doesn’t will hurt themselves. You can do it, like anyone with a couple of feet and half a brain.

I honestly though toe walking was a major sign of autism. I used to do it a lot as a kid but i forced myself to do it less. Im not a total autist but i think ive got a twinge of it.
