For example this year I have been trying to save, didn't buy expensive clothes didn't buy expensive phone, rented a small room
All of a sudden

> gets girlfriends, costs go up during the dating phase
> too tired to cook because kitchen is always busy with housemates
> girlfriends grandad gets cancer so I can no longer do overtime at work since I have to drive her around

Seems that you dont consider yourself worthy of saving up that much money, i suggest that you reconsider who you're hanging with and do a check on your self esteem (super important), your mind is probably self sabotaging yourself because of whatever reason

I have been trying anon. I would have gotten there by now if it wasn't for bullshit. I also can't just dump my gf for no fault of her own. Her mother is also sick so she doesn't have the strength to look after someone with terminal cancer.

I know this because my dad died from it and it was painful to look after him during those stages. That was just me an mum, both healthy. Now imagine having a sick mother on top of this shit.

I feel like something or someone is out to get me when I am trying to do the right thing.
