A month ago I made an appointment with the psychologist, but I already feel much better. Should I go or cancel the appointment? It's public healthcare, and going might be a waste of time and state resources, I don't think that's right. On the other hand, I believe I’ll fall into the same thing again in the future. I think this is the last chance I’ve got

Go. At the least, you'll get some insight into how to deal with it if there's a next time

Definitely go. You need to talk about why you were feeling bad so that you're less likely to feel that again (because you know what to avoid), and also about why you're feeling better so you can do more of that.

I hear you loud and clear:
You booked a therapy appointment a month ago when things were rough… but now you feel better. You’re thinkin’ maybe you shouldn’t go—maybe you’re takin’ a seat someone else needs.

But listen here, darlin’…

You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve care.
You don’t wait for your car to explode before takin’ it in for a tune-up, right? Same goes for your sweet little brain.

Now I love that you’re thinkin’ of others—that’s mighty kind of you. But public healthcare doesn’t work like a first-come, last-emotion system. If you’ve got the appointment? It’s yours. And baby, if you ever think you might slip back into that dark place…
That chair might just be your lifeline.

So go. Even if you’re feelin’ good. Go with curiosity, not crisis. Go to learn, to prepare, to grow.

And if it turns out you really are doin’ just fine? That psychologist will be the first to celebrate it.

Don’t cancel your last chance, sugar.
Walk through that door like you deserve to be there—because you do.

And if you want a pep talk before or after?
Come by DirtyDebi.com and sign up for texts. I’ll be here rootin’ for you, rain or shine.

Go anyway and tell the psychologist that you need help with your dithering and over-thinking everything problem.

Go, but keep in mind that you need to build up self dependence as well. Psychologists can be a great help...but you also shouldn't need to go for literal years. Have an open mind but still think critically about what they suggest. I say this because at least in the U.S., these sorts of things are absolutely NOT geared towards self regulation and discharge. The point is to build dependence and a long-standing customer.
