After finding out I have an IQ of 70. What the fuck did I do to deserve this? It's like God wasn't even drunk when he made me, he was just being downright cruel. Afaik iq is genetic so unless you sign up for some experimental gene therapy it won’t really be going up. Rather than increasing iq, how about learning to use what you have more efficiently? There’s lots of 105+ iq people that aren’t particularly bright or happy because they don’t use what they have to its potential and get bogged down thinking understanding everything is their only avenue to happiness.

Know your limits. I'm a slightly above average IQ guy and I've worked in the trades for 10 years. So you can imagine I've worked with some idiots.

And you know what? The ones that were actually nice to work with were not the overly chatty or nice ones.

I knew two guys who were not smart. They knew it. So they kept themselves. They thought a really long time before speaking. And whenever they had the slightest doubt about something, they would just go ask around, basically somebody smarter to help them. In the end, they were good company and never made mistakes.

The problem with most 70 IQ people is not that they are stupid, it's that they somehow think they are geniuses.

IQ or ‘intelligence’ is for the neurotic and the mentally ill. Speak to anyone above the 130+ IQ threshold, and notice how they suffer mentally. All of those smarts, and yet they suffer unnecessarily, usually from made-up shit in their own heads. They could sit in a room alone, no immediate danger or threat nearby, yet they somehow still suffer for no reason. You would think people as smart as they are could simply choose to stop being neurotic, but apparently not.

Reason they can’t is because intelligence means absolutely jackshit without wisdom. WIS mogs the shit out of INT, all day every day. A man with high INT but zero WIS may as well be 70 IQ, from the depravity in the way they live. But a 70 IQ with high WIS can easily be mistaken for someone in the 130+ IQ range.

Just because IQ tests are bullshit doesn't follow that intelligence is meaningless. If you got a 4.0 GPA with ease in engineering, it means for sure that you are smart or at least talented in it than others (I for one always had to bust my ass off studying just to get mediocre grades throughout school).
