I’m done with Germany. I love guns and this eurocuck shithole treats gun owners like criminals. Tired of the government, tired of the people, tired of the entire vibe here.

Divorced, barely see my two traitor daughters, don’t really care anymore. Got a stable $50k income, not looking for work or handouts. Found a solid piece of land in the middle of nowhere, no cities, no neighbors, just freedom.

What’s the actual process to get a U.S. passport or at least live there legally? Clean record, not even a speeding ticket. Do I have any real shot or is it just endless bullshit?

U.S. Passport
Need Citizenship: Get green card, live in U.S. 5 years (3 if married to U.S. citizen), apply for citizenship, then passport (~$130). Takes 5-7 years post-green card.
Green Card
Family: Need U.S. citizen/LPR sponsor. No family? Only viable if you marry a U.S. citizen.
Employment: Needs job offer. Not seeking work? Unlikely.
Investment (EB-5): $800k-$1.05M in U.S. business. Tough without big savings.
Diversity Visa Lottery: Best option. Apply yearly (Oct-Nov). Low odds (~1-2%), but you qualify.Asylum: Not viable; Germany’s stable.Temporary VisasB-2 Tourist: 6-month visits, no settling. Don’t overstay.E-2 Investor: $100k-$200k in U.S. business. Renewable, not a green card. Possible with capital.Your ChancesPros: Clean record, $50k income. Land doesn’t help directly.Cons: No U.S. family, limited funds.Lottery or E-2 are best.
Timeline: E-2: 1-2 years; citizenship: 5-10 years.next Steps
Apply for 2026 Lottery (Oct 2025).
Explore E-2 if you have $100k+.
Visit on B-2, stay legal.
Consult lawyer (AILA.org).
Bottom Line: Lottery’s easiest; E-2 needs funds. Stay legal. Want gun laws? Ask.

I do have money though, got lucky and pulled in nearly $2 million from stocks and shitcoins. So for that E-2 thing, do I actually have to invest $100k–$200k every single year, or is it just a one-time thing to get the visa?

Honestly, I wouldn’t even care if I had to marry some landwhale to get in. I could fake it for 3 or 4 years, no problem. But do we actually have to live in the same house for it to count, or can we just legally stay married while living separate?

What a low effort troll thread. Germany actually has pretty reasonable gun laws. And any European government is far, far better than the current dystopian corrupt oligarchy in America.

Yeah, sure, tell that to the family courts. Try explaining why you need a gun when you nearly came to blows with your cheating ex-wife, spent almost a year fighting her in court, and ended up completely cut off from your daughters, all because the system automatically sides with her. She destroyed the family by texting some coworker, but somehow I’m the bad guy.

If I even tried to get a gun here, they’d probably think I want it to kill her and my kids, kids that refuse to see me in over a year because they are too busy blaming me for “destroying the family" because of something so innocent. Germany’s gun laws might look reasonable on paper, but if you’re a guy stuck in a broken system, they don’t mean shit. At least in the U.S., I’d have the right to protect myself.

In Germany, the state can yank your guns if they think you might be a danger to yourself or others, even if you haven’t done anything wrong. If his ex found out he had a gun, she could just run to the cops, shed a few tears, file some bullshit complaint, and boom, he’s disarmed, just like that

What the fuck are you even talking about? How did you get from anything I said that I destroyed my family?

She “emotionally” cheated on me with some dude from work for two months. I found the messages, nudes and all. She cried, begged me to forgive her, promised to block him, switch jobs, said she’d do anything. When I didn’t cave, she broke down in front of the kids, begging me not to divorce her. Even my daughters begged me to stay, but I went through with it because I’m not going to live like a doormat.

Since then, my girls cut me off. They won’t even reply to my messages.
But sure, man, keep telling yourself I’m the bad guy here.

They'll check for sham marriages, don't try that. Unless you really do wanna shack up with some 40-something for the next 5 years.

For the E2, I think they check every year if you are still invested in American corpos, but they don't care which or how much as long as it meets the minimum. You might be able to work something out with a small business owner in Montana (think they would have to fill out some paperwork on their side for this to work), allowing you to keep access to your funds while still "investing". Good luck Deutschfriend!

Eh, I wouldn’t mind shacking up with a woman in her 40s for five years if it gets me out of here. Besides, I’m 41 myself, so it’s not like there’s much of an age gap. I’m actually planning to come to the US for a few months on a tourist visa to check out property, and looking for a woman at the same time is definitely doable. As for the E-2, I’ll need to dig into it more, but dropping $200k for an American passport doesn’t sound too bad.

US Immigration lawyer here. I'd be happy to answer specific questions you had. But generally, no, without family in the US or being exceptionally wealthy, you don't have a real shot at coming here unless you have a specialized degree and a US company that wants you and is willing to try to get you a guest worker visa. Even so that could take years and would not be guaranteed. Owning property in the US does not entitle you to a visa.

You're better off moving somewhere else in the EU if you hate Germany.

oh I just see now that you say you have $2M. That changes things. If you can invest $800k to start a business in a rural area (or $1.05M in an urban area) that employs at least 10 people you can acquire an EB-5 visa (the other anon was wrong to say E-2, that's a different category) and EB-5 does allow you to become a permanent resident and citizen.

Here's where you should start looking if you're serious
https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/permanent-workers/eb-5-immigrant-investor-program

If you think this might make sense for you then you should find an immigration lawyer who specializes in EB-5 visas and they will probably be able to put you in touch with a broker who can find reputable US partners for you to back if you don't want to set up the business yourself and are just interested in the visa.

Well, the 50k comes from dividends on some of the money I’ve invested in stocks. It’s actually more, but I only count the 50k after child support is paid. That dividend income isn’t from the 2 million I have in savings, that’s separate. The 2 million came from a few investments in some shitcoins and stocks that took off over the past 2 years.

Oh, just to clarify, I’m not really looking for a work visa. I used to work as an engineer in Germany’s defense industry but quit last year because of the people and the environment. I make decent money from dividends, so I’m aiming to move to the US for a quiet life.

I do have around €3.3 million in total, with about €1.3 million tied up in less liquid stocks, and the remaining €2 million from stocks and some coins I sold but haven’t reinvested yet.

Thanks for the EB-5 info, that sounds promising. I’ll definitely look into it and find an immigration lawyer who specializes in that. I’d rather back reputable partners than start a business myself, so that could be a good route.

I have a US girlfriend who is living with me in Europe atm (started long distance, got an unmarried-partner residency permit for my home country and now live together).

We want to eventually move back to the us, the only seemingly possible option being marriage in the EU and a CR1 Visa.

Is this correct or are we overlooking something that would be easier / more stable? H-1B seems unlikely due to cap, processing times, and lack of companies doing those in her state. K-1 would suck due to me having to sit on my hands unable to work in the US until I get an employment authorisation.

I figured as much, that's why I said you should speak to an immigration attorney who specializes in the investment visas because they should be able to put you in touch with a middleman who can find people in the US looking for investors that would meet the investment visa critera, and you can just come in as the silent partner who puts up the money and is entitled to profits, but the others handle actually running the business.

>>33363488
You are correct to think that H-1B is not a good fit for your situation, and K visas can be difficult to get so aren't really worth the hassle. CR-1 is subject to a lot of scrutiny because our immigration agency (USCIS) has something of an obsession about stopping sham marriage visas, so you would have to prove its a real relationship. They also like to just make things difficult for people for no real reason. During Trump's first term his people were given the directive that the purpose of the agency is to deny visa requests, so they often look for reasons to do so. Additionally, the whole point of it being a conditional visa means if the marriage doesn't last you'll be deported.
