It depends on how badly you want to be independent. If you choose the homeless route, I recommend a good shelter in your area that will let you stay for at least a couple months. And where they'll let you have mail delivered. At least have a phone and transportation, like money for taking the bus. You do have public transportation in your area, right?

Though it's best to just stick it out with your parents for at least a few more months.

In a shelter, there's rules and restrictions and weird people you have to deal with.

In either scenario, I recommend you get a job RIGHT NOW. Then build up 3 to 6 months of savings and paystubs. You can then use those paystubs as proof of income to get a cheap apartment.

The sooner you get a job, the faster you can get away from your parents.
