i thought it was just a meme but i’ve come to see that latinas are indeed quite different than your average white girl. i understand they aren’t some monolithic entity but the difference have been noticeable

my gf puts a heavy emphasis on family and is constantly inviting me over for dinner or gatherings. she warned me she can be demanding and intense. she’s also very stubborn and quite dominant regarding intimacy

how do i keep her ‘in check’? are there some specific (cultural) things latinas look for in a partner? i’m not looking to change myself for her but any insight would be nice

They're culturally argumentative and intense when dissatisfied, but very loving when satisfied. Culturally, they want you to be family-focused and hard-working. You will have to develop strong relations with her family and you're going to need to marry her and breed her in a comparatively short time, or she will start getting frustrated, because that's what her family will demand and they will pester her to pester you to do so. Like, within a year of dating, they will start to harass you guys to get married and start popping out kids.

i see, familie oriented is indeed accurate. i met her grandparents a month into dating and they already call me the spanish equivalent of their ‘grandson’. she still lives at home but wants me to eat with her family multiple times at week. she expressed she wants kids at 25 and to be married before she’s pregnant, she’s 20 now so that also sort of checks out.

it’s odd navigating through the cultural differences but i feel that they’re very welcoming and warm. it’s been 3 months now and find myself growing stronger feelings so i don’t want to mess this up so to speak

What kind of latina. A lot of them are a lost cause, totally narcissistic vain conceited vampire people. Think about how cartoon vampires and witches behave: constantly nasty, snippy, mean, and then they pretend it's funny, dress tacky always have an attitude and act like over-the-top supervillains. Then many have this third-world tribalistic mentality, where they are incapable of individual thought or planning, they are just all reactions, no internal monologue, obsessed with fitting in with the herd even if it means driving off a cliff.
But regardless, pay attention how she reacts to different situations. Don't ignore any little red flags you might see. Pay attention to how messed up her family might be.

You don't keep them in check. Bickering is part of their whole thing. The performativity for shit testing is 10x what you'll get with a white or Asian female.

Do not pursue if that's not your thing.
