I turned 18 last week and I'm excited to be making some big changes I couldn't before I was a legal adult. I've been non-binary all through highschool, my friends always accepted and supported me, but my family hated it. My mom would say stuff like "I want my daughter to look like my daughter", and it felt less like I was a person and more like a doll for them.
My dad and my brother never treated it as anything but a passing interest and now that I'm scheduled to see a doctor about it they're both getting mad. I still live at home, and I want to keep the peace while I'm here without surrendering my sense of self in the process. How can I get them to deal with the change that's coming for until I move out? I'm not even doing hormones or anything I just wanted a breast reduction/removal so I wouldn't have to wear a binder but they act like Im dying
