Basically i got prescribed ritalin against my adhd by my doctor. The issue is that even in its modified release form the desired effect is very short and not very useful. I mean what good is it that i can wageslave until noon but have no focus left for personal activities that also need it and are much more important to me. I saw others say that vyvanse works better for them and looking it up online it also looks like it would be much better. The only reason why you would use ritalin instead is cost i think but im insured anyways so cost is not an issue for me.
Note that im still very new to this and the doctor always tries to play it safe but i really don't see how increasing the dose of my current meds would be any good. Some sort of switch is needed i think.
I have an appointment with him next week where we will talk about how it goes and until then I'd like to make up my mind on what to say. I don't want to come off as an druggie but at the same time this is really not very helpful for me.
How do i approach this situation? Do i just tell him that the effect is too unreliable and hope he gets the hint?
