I won't understand. Are you afraid you will be killed by the animals or that you will die some other way and the scavenging animals will suffer after eating your corpse? If the latter then I commend you on your kindness for animals, preventing them from suffering. If the former then just get a big shotgun.

What kind of animal we talking? Depending on how large it is you could leave out bait loaded with a fuck ton of Diphenhydramine, but make sure you calculate the weight if your goal is to knock it out not kill it.

If this is somehow for a person and you try it they will die, no joke. So only take this advice if your not a serial killer please.
