I think I made a mistake.
I am a dual citizenship with usa and a european country, living in a third country by European Union laws. I have not lived in usa in a very long time. I was born there that's how I have citizenship. I didn't renounce because I don't want to pay. I lived in Asia for a while and lived in a few countries in Europe. I've been supported by my partner, inheritance, and did some work with tax free salary abroad.
But suddenly right after signing a contract and paying for an apartment in EUROPE, they are asking me for a w9 form. I don't think they can ask me this. I don't work, I don't have connection there, and there is no reason to ask. I don't get why they are asking me and feel like I should not live here, void the contract and get my money back.
