What do you do when it feels like you're behind in life? I'm 26, making just over 30k/yr as a personal assistant. The people I knew in college are all NYC/DC/LA lawyers pulling down 200k minimum, or living in some exotic location speaking some weird language, or progressing in their career, or or or. Feels like I'm stuck. And to be quite honest I like it where I am; low stress, no real responsibilities, safe, comfortable, but to be even more honest, I want the people I knew in college to begrudgingly admire and respect me, even though I haven't talked to most of them in years. I want to both disappear and also be talked about, discussed, present. What do I do? Anyone else felt this way? What did you do?

I never do feel that way. Most of the people I went to school with are dead, while I stand a fair chance of benefiting directly from advances in life extension now on the horizon. And if you're under 30 then it is stupid to worry about how many birthdays you have had because it is small compared to the number to come. And some people being born today will absolutely be still alive a thousand years from now.

You shouldn't compare yourself to other people. Instead, adopt a more healthy mentality and compare you to yourself from yesterday.
Try to be a better person today than you were yesterday.

>I want other people to envy me
>Also, I don't have any stress or responsibilities lol
Nobody has ever achieved anything worth a shit without (healthy) stress or responsibilities man. Your $200k salary buddies probably have way more on their plate than you, and that's why they earn more. Of course you envy them; they get to have shit you can't even be bothered to try working for.

Maybe this will light the necessary fire under your ass; you will spend the rest of a mediocre and unhappy life watching those guys from the proverbial cuck chair if you don't get some damn initiative. Work harder, and stop being happy with "low stress, no real responsibilities. If you don't we'll all look forward to comparing ourselves to you for a confidence boost, not out of envy.
