If you have the brainpower, getting in programming is comfy. Shitty part is from what I hear is that you'll need to work even harder to get in as AI raised the bar.

barely anyone is hiring so don't expect to get anything soon unless you go to trade school or spend a decade training as a scientist or something

There's little money to hire people right now because the government has to send all the money and weapons to Israel and Ukraine and to give tax cuts to the nice billionaires who supported our great president.

It's never too late to do the right thing. Good on ya, OP. Overall, stay active in your attempts. Keep trying.

Factory work is better, for the actual actions but also the pay is great. Get any kind of factory position you can. Get your mind out of the "the only thing that exists is the world I see regularly" gutter. USAjobs.gov is a good path. Your local city probably has a site where they are looking for city workers for a variety of jobs.

Long term solutions sound sweetman, unless you need a job today. If he has time, though, this is still a good route, just requires discipline. Trades are the easiest most engaging path to success, I guarantee there are a variety of trade schools near you. Trucking has turned into a trash heap; they are getting screwed so I would not recommend that path. I have further advice for both long and short term: "Guide to Success from nothing"
