..any of you who became a NEET (either by choice or not) eventually got out of NEETdom? I've been a NEET for over 2 years now and a part of me wants to work and/or go to school again because I feel that I can do more in life. I would find a job that I'd hopefully enjoy, preferably some sort of contract work so I can have months off to do shit and travel. I've also thought about going into finance because apparently it's a good career path for ppl on the spectrum (been officially diagnosed with autism). I think it would also be neat to work on a harbour ship.

I do appreciate some things about being a NEET but I feel that ppl in general were not ment to just sit around and just do nothing and play vidya and shitpost everyday for their whole lives. I can just try out something new and if I don't like it or get fired then whatever I can always try again or go back to being a NEET.

Yes I know society in general is rigged and the ruling elite class is here to stay and want more but I still feel that there is more to life than just this.

Anyone got out of being a NEET? Are you better for it or do you regret it?

First off OP, you're a fucking human being, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Next, you got to take actionable steps each day. Better late than never.

Go to school and work a pt job. Just do whatever you can to avoid being at home and in your head. You’ll thank me later.

1. Get a job. Any job. A McJob if necessary. Not primarily for the money, but to put you into the world of having something to do every day.

2. Choose a career. If you have a degree in ANYTHING you can get a job in banking, insurance, sales, marketing, retail - and, actually, just about any non-tech field.

3. Move out as soon as you can. Start living like a real grown-up and you'll start thinking and acting like a real grown-up

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.
EMT = 1-3 MONTH COURSE AND YOU MAKE A LIVING <- then can go to paramedic and then RN
consider military, go to NZSDF if US
etc..,

I got a meme degree, been thinking about getting into finance or some bs government job.

And i've also moved out a long time ago(10+ years), living in a studio apartment right now. Before becoming a NEET I was working in the film industry.

It becomes depressing desu. The years pass by, your friends are off doing their own thing while you're left in the dust, and you become painfully aware of how much time you've wasted and are currently wasting. I hate it so much, but taking the first is hard for some reason. Maybe it's the fear of the outside world, the comfort of home and my thoughts.

Yeah
>Are you better for it or do you regret it?
I fucking love it. Being NEET is usually the result of insecurity, unresolved trauma, and health problems. Once you eliminate the root problems, you'll realize that working, meeting people, and having money is a fucking blast.
I feel like I have fucking wings. I can drive the fuck anywhere now that I have a car, don't have to worry about dropping $100 on stupid bullshit, and might even start hitting on chicks and joining social groups nd stuff. The process has been bumpy af so far, times when the stress and culture shock make me wanna kms, but treat yourself well, take breaks when you need it, and overall it'll be worth it.
The future looks fucking bright. I don't regret it one bit.

That's great to hear man. What do you do for work if you don't mind me asking? Something you had to go back to school for?

Nah, just minimum wage work. Outdoors, manual labor, working with customers. Great way to get active again and relearn how to socialize.
As long as your manager is chill and the work doesn't kill you, any job can be a good job.
