Isn't emotional depth different from being psychologically manipulative?
One has feelings that they can connect to you with, the other uses your own feelings to alter your behavior. And I do want emotional depth. Being fed my own opinion isn't very engaging. Having things that I agree with someone with is great, but they should be their own reasons, not mine.
