So my boss has always been an asshole and he can do whatever he wants because he's been at the company for 40 fucking years (he won't retire), but today I feel like he crossed the line and now I'm thinking about finding a new job, even though I like my current job other than dealing with the asshole boss. What do?

I don't know. When I think about such people I think it would be a real shame if one of their enemies put small amounts of a potent carcinogen into their coffee or lunch or (heavens!) anywhere!

How do know it’s not your fault if you don’t share the details with us?

Didn't know if anyone cared
>be me
>boss is 68 year old asshole
>supervises 4 departments
>i work in 2 of them
>he literally does nothing at work
>makes me do most of his jobs
>monday morning
>tells me stay in just 1 department today because we are "swamped"
>ok so i stay there all day and it was good
>tuesday i think to myself, he said we are swamped so that means he wants me to stay in one department again until we get caught up
>wrong
>by "swamped" he meant we were just understaffed that day and he decided he wanted me to stay in one department just for that day
>comes to me first thing wednesday morning
>you know you were supposed to work both departments all day yesterday, right?
>no
>do you remember what i told you
>he's referencing something he told me once i guess two months ago about how he wanted me to only work both departments if we are fully staffed
>but he just told me monday that we are "swamped" and to stay up here
>i'm confused
>he's the asshole that refuses to communicate better because that would require effort on his part
>i can't argue with him though because he's the boss
>just say ok and walk away feeling like an idiot for just doing what i was told
I'm about at my breaking point. I'm considering putting in my 2 weeks notice on Monday, but I will take a few days to calm down first. This job is good money and I like the work, but I can't be made to feel like a worthless piece of shit for no good reason when all I want to do is work hard and go home feeling good about myself for working hard

It's hard to leave though because the plant manager likes me and they have given me like a 4$ raise over the last year. It would suck to start over somewhere new, but it would be nice to just come to work and not have to worry about people. I'm going to give it a few more days and see how it goes. If I can just learn how to ignore this asshole and not give a fuck, then maybe I can be a little less stressed out
