I have trouble spending more than $150 on things unless I really need them, and usually buy the cheapest thing or wait for deals, even though I make more than that in a working day and don't spend much. How do I fix my stinginess?

Also, I want to rent, but I think having to spend about 15% of my salary on a shitty apartment sucks. On the other hand, I don't want to buy an apartment in an area I don't plan on living on for more than a couple of years. What do?

I feel you.
Think of a toy you want right now, don't look at the price.
Buy your inner child that gift.
He deserves the best.

Buy an apartment, use it till you don't need it, then rent it out.

I have a hard time thinking that way, cuz I have lots of unresolved basic needs, as well as traumas from poverty...

>rent it out.
I have ideological and practical motives against this: I don't like being unethical and a leech, and also, renting would be too much trouble and I like a peaceful life...

I think you actually should become a land lord so you can learn how the world actually works. Retarded child.

Why do you think being frugal is a bad thing?

I recommended not thinking about it.
You've already got safety covered for him.
Buy it for your inner child right now.
Be the adult that child needs.

I know how the world works from the other side of a landlord, you faggot leech. I was born poor, worked during summers since I was 12, I've worked most of my life, I've rented before and I know very well what it means to have someone take money from you in exchange of a shitty, overpriced, temporary space, just to pay their monthly installments. You are not even a human being to landlords.

No, but this was too much for my ex gf. I need to loosen things a bit, I guess.

So become a landlord then. Watch as your largest investment gets trashed by some retarded faggot. Or watch as they refuse to pay you, steal from you, and manage to feel morally correct while stealing from you. I repeat, stop being a retarded child.

That's a good and healthy attitude. Never change. But have fun a little. Life is short.

On planet poverty, where people think you HAVE to spend money if you make too much of it, or at least enough to waste on random shit.

TBDesu, your ex sounds like a vapid, materialistic whore. Don't let her compromise your values. Women are notoriously incapable of managing money.

Where can you rent for 15% of your salary? In most cities it is 50% or more.

well, to be fair, I am stingy to the point of avoiding buying basic stuff like a decent portable aircon when I lived with her... instead I bought the cheaper ($25) infrared heater I could find, which was OK for short distance heating, but not for space heating

Don't lose the stingy instinct, that's how you hang onto money when you make it. It's a good trait to have. That said, it's also good to acknowledge that cheaper is not always better. This can be solved by obsessively researching a purchase before you make it, especially if it's going to be more than you would normally pay.
