How do I explain to my French mother and sister about going back to college at 27. Our family was in a messy bind back in 2020 through the spate of covid so I helped try to pay for my sister's college while working. I was already taking a break from community college due to mental health and death threats while my mother can't seem to wrap her head around the concept of American education

Now, I'm trying to get myself back but my sister, who graduated in marketing, is advising ME to take up WFH/work from home jobs while I'm trying to get into cybersecurity and had already done my homework with DEFCON, TryHackMe, and the bureau of labor statistics. I'm aware I need to major into CS first. No, I don't think AI is going to replace my job. The only problem is that my parents separated so I had to figure out everything on my own with no help because I have no friends.

I'm not trying to let them dictate my life. I've already done my FAFSA ahead of time. The only problem is that I can't do everything on my own. Plus, I have to cough up 2 months of rent for a landlord on two separate occasions. One on August 1st, on top of the security deposit, and one on Sept 1st before loan and grant disbursements, which take place during the second or third week of classes. I'm aware that I needed to be more than ready for that specific occasion and I know I'm coming in late. But I can't help it when I had so m much bullshit happen to my life and my fairer half is anything but understanding and sympathetic. I'll have enough to get around the months since I'm on UI. But it's annoying as fuck to have myself do everything on my own.

You gotta keep going no matter what. True you got obstacles, but if you fight them with your wit well enough, I'm sure you'll be through it all in no time.

True. I got all the money stacking from FAFSA, ACE, work-study, and some of TAP.

I'll also need a new laptop since the charging port of my MSI GF63 thin is fucked. I'm thinking of a refurbished Lenovo Legion on eBay. Though that won't be until after I pay the second month.

On the bright side, with the second month out of the way, I'll be able to actually pay for a new laptop.

I don't have any doubts about getting back and I won't let myself drop out.

No need to explain or argue if it's your money and your life.

You don't have to explain anything, obviously. You're welcome!

FUCK OFF WE'RE FULL

Seriously why don't you people try to go into a job that society actually needs? Like plumbers or mechanics?
