tldr basic teen girls ik are having scarily accurate fake accounts made of them

it's on insta, and it happens repeatedly, so it makes me feel as if it's targeted. the accounts always get to the point where the girls' friends message the account thinking it's the girl. i typed a longer message but i forgot a file so here's a short version bc im fucking stupid and lost my more complicated version.

ask any questions and lmk if you know of any scam tactic similar or program that does this. the account never asked for money or anything so i feel like there's something... grosser going on. idk. i have that vibe

op here. adding more information. each account pops up every few months, makes no effort of connecting with or attacking the actual accounts and disappears after being noticed. i'm not sure if it's being reported and taken down or if it's taking itself down after noticing others are posting warnings about the account. i feel like it's the latter, but that's a gut instinct

none of the girls are especially rich but none of them are especially poor, openly political, alternative or anything else that makes them stand out. i have a feeling like the accounts might be made to contact other people posing as a teen girl, or to trick friends and family, but i have no evidence of that.
