I get what I've been calling "angry intrusive thoughts" where I imagine past and hypothetical scenarios where I'm arguing with/physically fighting someone I'm mad at (or sometimes a stranger). The scenarios are often repetitive and can last for hours, keeping me up at night. There are often physiological responses to the thoughts, like my body tensing up as I imagine fighting someone a certain way. I've also been outwardly saying things that I would say in the argument ("That's why your ex left you, faggot" said out loud instead of in my head).
Is there a specific psychological/ psychiatric term for this? And how do change this thought pattern?
