I fucking hate waiting mode. OP that image is talking about a real adhdism. It's not like waiting like normie waiting. ADHD waiting mode is paralyzing, you just sit there and can't do anything dont wanna start anything, not even watching TV or taking a shit. You just wait like a dog until the [appointment] is over. Appointments are fucking kryptonite

Yeah. Fuckin curse having ADHD dog brain. Not even dog brain, less than dog brain. My dog is intelligent enough to know when it's time for his food at 6pm on the dot. My ass can't even estimate time properly innately, internal clock is bugged. That's why waiting mode is hell cuz you overestimate or underestimate how much free time you actually have before the [APPOINTMENT]. So you just freeze up and do nothing till then. Yare yare fuckin daze

I arrive for things at least 20 minutes early and used to think I was just being timely which is a good thing, but then someone told me it's a sig of autism/ADHD. Fucking sucks. I also stress on the whole ride over that I probably don't have enough time and finding parking will be difficult.

Humans have been making all sorts of different things day-to-day during the last 300K years
hunting, gathering, crafting, growing stuff, raising cattle, leisuring, battling neighbors, running, swimming, sexing, raising their kids, etc.
notice how an 'ADHD' person would have been perfectly fine doing a little of this, a little of that every day in a primitive society

here comes mr Shekelberg who needs you to sit at a desk for 8 hours straight. of course, some people can't do it, so he comes up with an 'illness' and its treatment:
you're being rewired into a good obedient slave thanks to chemical dopamine.

But the issue is that even in free time where you could do all that, you freeze and can only focus on one thing that comes later on at a specific place. It would be like knowing you're going hunting at the river and then you just stay inside your hut until its the time of day that you actually go there for hunting.

In school I used to just sit at my desk and fiddle with the mechanical pencils or pretend my hands were ninjas having a battle. Literally never learned anything, failed most of my tests, and still somehow graduated. The American indoctrination system is a joke

I used to just not show up to school for most regular days, learned what I needed for tests, did the tests on test days, got average grades on them and then just took more time off school when it wasn't test time. Graduated as a completely average student and wasted all that other time playing PS2 games.

Sometimes I wonder how I'd of turned out if I did actually try harder and got high grades instead of absolute average.

Yeah that's pretty typical of schools. If school didn't suck so much, I probably would've been there more often. My English teach was some pissed off feminist that hated men too, so I almost never showed up for her classes, which was kinda the same story for a lot of people. Also another teach got fired for what he was doing with one of the girls on the basketball team.

My school was kind of a shithole I guess, so maybe I was just considered the absolute least of their concerns.

ADHD is real, it's an actual physical brain disorder that affects dopamine receptors and neural activity.

But as with a lot of medical conditions it becomes a good excuse for normal people with bad behavior.

Procrastination, lazyness, being distracted, difficulty multitasking, overthinking, etc are all things neurotypical experience. It just has to do with discipline or personality. Saying you have ADHD then becomes a convenient excuse for poor behavior, much like with depression, anxiety, BPD, etc. it's become a buzzword.

If you do actually have ADHD and it's medically diagnosed you can get meds for it. Then it stops being an excuse. See how most people parade the diagnosis but do nothing to address it? Probably don't have ADHD, just like the excuse

>Feminist English teacher
Literally same for me, and I've heard that story repeated by hundreds of people it's crazy.

For us it was the gym teacher who got caught with child porn on his phone (at work). Also one of our history teachers was a 50 year old gay man married to a former student. Faggot didn't even know shit about history, just read to us from a textbook and printed out tests from some website. How much more fast and loose can we get with our children's future?

>Covid happened

Ah, I wasn't really aware of that. So treating the depression might help with that? So far none of those anti-depressants have done shit for me other than make me gain weight or make me dizzy and therapists don't seem to give a shit.

No shit? I wonder why that's so common.

>For us it was the gym teacher
Yeah it was our gym teacher too, though I guess that was implied with it being a girl on the basketball team.

>one of our history teachers was a 50 year old gay man married to a former student
Heh, I forgot about our history teach until now. He tried making a move on a few students during the my first year there and he disappeared a few weeks later. He must've got a transfer or something since he ended up at a different school across town.

Oh and one of the art teachers was absolutely insane. She dressed and sort of spoke like that psychic teacher from Harry Potter that would read the future from tea leaves or whatever.

Yes.

No. A good test is to give someone amphetamine: a normal person becomes stimulated, active and emotional; someone with ADHD becomes calmer and more focused.

Not necessarily. At our school the girl's volleyball coach was one of the math teachers. We all called him a pedo but as far as I know he never got caught doing anything.

I think it's real. It's kind of useful for gunter gatherer nomads because it helps us explore, learn lots of easy to learn skills, and generally throw ourselves like shit at a wall and hope we stick, but it makes us bad at school and the rigid military industrial complex that consumes the lives of all but the wealthy.

this, but unironically

see also: "burnout" which implies there's something wrong with the wagie.

it's the super optimized work conditions where you find yourself in a place where you're supposed to do the same shit over and over for 10 hours that are wrong.

Like most psych diagnoses, ADHD is real but the scope has expanded far too much. There's SO much feature creep it's actually insane. Anything a person with a given label does is declared a symptom, anyone with any one symptom must be someone of that label, and anyone under a label is presumed to have every single symptom. The concept behind the label has completely lost the plot.
