Cat is dying. Kidney failure. Euthanasia is tomorrow. I honestly don't know how to process this information.
She keeps switching between lying in bed and standing in front of her water bowl without being able to drink. She calls for me so I pet her while she attempts to drink but it's not helping. Tried giving her water with a syringe but she could barely drink.
Is there anything I can still do?

Only comfort at this point. I'm so sorry, anon. Just love on her as much as you can and prepare for the worst at home.

I'm sorry to hear this. I experienced something like this myself. If you gave your cat a good life, you did all you could. Just be kind to her while you can.

I wouldn't put her down if I where you. Let him/her die at home peacefully with you, naturally

all you can do is cry. That's what I would do in your position. I can't imagine losing a cat, especially if they are the only closeness you have

>peacefully
The only peace this cat will get is once its gone.
>Wheelie bin full of water
>Cat in cage
>In it goes
Burry it in the garden or freeze it and put it in the bin just before collection time.
Its hard to do but sometimes you have to.

Just be with her, anon. That's what she really wants. You can't fix her, and you can't take away her pain for now, but just be with her, and remember it's okay to mourn a pet.

Keep kitty warm with blankets and feed her anything she likes. Just being near her and petting, her is a comfort. I'm so sorry OP.

I have lost a lot so far in life op. Dog I grew up with, dad and step father, all grandparents. Honestly, the dog was the hardest one. If your pet is in agony just by existing, there's nothing you can do. I don't have any advice because really there is no good advice. Just love your cat for as long as you can. Be there with them

If it's the end, it's the end. Be the bigger man and keep her close as she dies. It's okay to cry.

She knows two things - she loves you and she's in pain.

Hold and talk to her when the vet gives her the shot, and her last thought will be that it is you who are making the pain go away.

Thanks for your messages everyone and sorry for not replying before. She got euthanized a few hours ago.
I was petting her the whole time. It happened on a blanket she enjoyed resting on. I didn't manage to talk much since I was choking tears but hopefully it made the experience just a little less terrifying for her. I almost puked feeling the life disapear from her at the end with all the spasms but managed to hold it back.
It all felt surreal. One week ago she seemed to be fine. She even got a health checkup somewhat recently but her health just declined so fast.
I'll try sending a (You) to everyone. Thanks again anons <3

Oh, fuck you, anon. You want to prolong the cat's suffering as much as you can? That's your plan? You think dying of kidney failure is "peaceful"? Ugh.

What OP ought to do is call the vet to the house - today, not tomorrow - and have the cat put to sleep there.
