Recently I met a freelance electrical engineer and shared an idea I have for a new invention. He says he can make it and will give me the right to sell it, but he needs a bit of money to get the project going. How do I make sure he doesn't screw me? Should I put it in writing? How?

Yeah, you need to write a business contract. First, you should write down your idea in private dated notes and email them to yourself. Then, write up a contract saying you both have joint ownership of the patent or whatever. Look for examples online
