I am in IT but realistically how hard is getting into med school? My mom is a Dr working at a hospital i never thought about medicine but honestly its probably the only job that you can get any meaning out of really.

Depends entitely on the program. Mid programs, good chance to get in as long as you study for the MCAT. It is hard for the good programs, I had a friend who had to wait 3 years reapplying each year to get into UW

Ask your mother. It is probably not a good idea to think of being a doctor as "a job." If it is not almost a religious calling, the thing you feel you were born to do, you will probably be lousy and miserable.
