Context, I'm a single guy and this has happened a couple times recently
First a girl I met in a bar, started complaining about some other guy at the same event making her feel uncomfortable, then started venting about her work and changed seats with somebody to be closer to me

Another instance, girl I'm chatting to in a dating app, havent even seen her in person, started randomly complaining about some guy at her office giving her unwanted attention. She seems interested in going out on a date with me.

The question is why me? I can't even relate to their experiences cause, you know, Im a guy
Does it have any significance?
Are they subconsciously telling me to back off?
Or is this just normal casual conversation for women?
Like "yeah, mondays suck am I right?, I'm Amanda btw, the weather was superb! back at the beach, there's this guy that has been pestering me lately."

The main thing women seek from a man is security. They don't need you to respond, just to listen and not be judgmental. This is the baseline for interaction between the sexes.
