Just give it to me straight /adv/. Is it worth curing my 'depression' as a man in today's age? Society tells men that suffer builds character and strength. All these placebo pills and shit therapy don't work. Tell me I'm a weak faggot or something.

Getting out of depression has nothing to do with the current state of society. It might have gotten you there, but now it's inconsequential. All that matters is self improving and becoming a better person for your own sake.

It's ideal for you not to be depressed. You should work on that before you work on anything else. I'm not saying you can cure it, because god knows I haven't, but you can be aware of it and know that you're going to come out of the deepest parts of it. Learn to live with it, and you will be fine. Let it consume you, and it's over.

I mean everything is so completely fucked, being depressed is the healthy response to it all. What's the point of getting on antidepressants? So you can be a more functional member of a society that's completely lost its mind?

The option of meds? Society fails young men, OP read Bronze Age mindset you need to delve within and stop caring about what other people think about you thats where true confidence comes from. Life can be really bitter and brutal sometimes I don't know what to tell you but meaning is a blanket you need to knit yourself you should get into spirituality but more like the basic mentalist shit not being a crystal girl. You are more than your physical body and the suffering you are going through is aiding your soul in growth, you are capable of micro telekenesis. The pills you are given don't work because you don't like them just invent your own pills and you'll find something that works it brought me from being anxious paranoid and sad to not caring the world is my oyster. Don't cling to physical matter and build up your soul

Have you thought of depression as an symptoms, not an illness? I may be mistaken, but a lot of things can cause depression like symptoms. Try to take a look on your hormones and stuff. Testosterone and other stuff can make you feel bad if you're not on the level you should be

Depression is always a "you" problem. Meds can help, but the real fix is getting out of the rut you dug yourself in.

Get a regular sleep schedule. It doesn't have to be a conventional one. The only important part is making it consistent.

Exercise. Go to a nearby trail or park. Walk around while listening to an audiobook or something. If you can't get yourself to do this every day, do it every other day.

Identify things that make you feel bad. Limit or completely remove social media. If you're going to masturbate, do it every other day.

Find a hobby to do. Getting better at something you enjoy one of the most rewarding human experiences. Carve bears out of soap. Learn to cook. Paint models. Anything.

You won't see results right away, but you *need* to keep up a routine. You'll be a little better in a week and a little better a week after that. It adds up.

People have begun to lose their hopes and forget their dreams.

Nobody cares about anything anymore.
Nobody wants to get together anymore.
Nobody does anything without getting paid anymore.
Nobody wants to do anything anymore.
