My ex got a restraining order against me. How will this realistically impact me? I don't plan on going for any jobs with clearances or working with children/vulnerable populations. It won't expire for 2 years and I have no intentions to get into contact in any way and I can't get a gun. I'm unemployed right now and wondering if jobs do background searches that have civil cases come up. If it does come up, am I automatically out of the search? It's a tough job market so I'd be surprised if they even let me explain myself if I got that far someplace.

Yes, unfortunately I was stable until I wasn't, I'm ashamed of that day and that moment (no one else was ever going to get hurt) but I'm far away and trying to get my life back together now. I just want to know how it impact me if anyone else here has gone through the same thing or knows more about it.
