I had someone falsely accuse me of serious shit recently.

Now I wonder how the fuck big creators online get away with shit and then drop off the face of the earth not to even be spotted irl or anything after, i'm out here wondering if I can even find a job in the future because internet stalkers want to try and ruin as much of my life as they can

OP, just change your last name. Easy solution.

This happened to me when I was 19 (didn’t lose my virginity until 27, so as you can imagine I was a bit irked). The paranoia went away after about 5 or 6 years but the idea that it could happen again never really goes away. If she’s put your name online you might consider getting a lawyer to draft a cease and desist letter and sending it to the platform where it is being hosted. In my case she ended up deleting it just as I was getting ready to do this, which is ideal because you want these kinds of things handled quietly. If your name is common I wouldn’t even worry about it. If the girl doing this to you is anything like the girl who did it to me she is suffering from mental health issues and will eventually move on or discredit herself.

> The paranoia went away after about 5 or 6 years
I like to think I've gotten better dealing with my paranoia about the situation after maybe half a year now but sometimes it spikes back up and I find myself replaying all the things that were said again in my head.

I was never a big social media user, so I have no clue where it might be hosted, I just know she is the type to insanely shit on people for months on end after the ending of a friendship/relationship, and people still seem to defend her, at least in her bubble.

I think I just worry that if I move onto something new somehow my accusations would be brought up by someone and cost me my ability to live, makes me not want my name to even show up on job sites or anything.

How much power do they actually have?
It's true you are under some threat, but it might be a relatively low amount of threat that can be managed by being armed, having friends, or having friends that are armed.
If you wish to be paranoid, you can also put your finances in forms that are harder to confiscate.

So this isn't an org like Antifa or a branch of the Crips, this is just one person?
Sounds like a non-issue

My biggest fear was running into her. Happened once at a coffee shop. She went right into the bathroom and started howling. Fortunately that only ever happened once.

I really wouldn’t worry about it unless she’s actively trying to publish this information. Companies aren’t going to do the kind of background checks you’re thinking of for the sorts of jobs you are likely applying to. The challenge with accusations like these is primarily that some subset of the population will just assume that you did it. It’s very unlikely if you don’t hear anything within a year or two that the police are investigating it. If they do, don’t answer any questions, just request a lawyer. Again though, this kind of thing happens a lot and it’s not nearly as impactful as it would have been ten years ago.

As an employer, I wouldn't care. If you told me this while interviewing, I wouldn't make it public record that you work for me.
This stuff happens and really it's not that big of a deal for getting employed.
