Hi frens, I'm in a bit of a pickle and need some advice. I have to play guitar & sing at a wedding next week in front of maybe 70ish people..
3 instrumentals and 4 songs to be sung & played. This is going to be my first time performing solo in front of a large audience.

Anyway I decided to play guitar for about 8 coworkers today as a way of loosening up and getting used to singing in front of others...it didnt go well. My leg was shaking uncontrollably and made playing some of the songs challenging. One instrumental song I've played 100s of times I forgot how to play it half way through.. I got really lightheaded and couldnt remember the notes (panic attack?) and had to just finish it there & then.

I was singing In my life by the Beatles with the words in front of me but still fucked it up as my anxiety got so bad I lost track of where to look after the chorus.

So yeah, I always have an underlying anxiety but didnt realise it was this bad. It's for a family member so I cant really back out of this. Any suggestions please?

Unfortunately, practice is the best way to improve.
A bit of alcohol would probably help. Just make sure to only have a bit.

I can play most of these songs to a high level with my eyes closed when I'm at home. But put me in front of an audience, the hands & legs start shaking uncontrollably..the problem isnt a lack of practice

I meant that you need to practice playing for a crowd. What you did for your coworkers probably really helped.
