Imagining doing something is often better than the real thing. It just means nothing you want to do is worth your effort. It may take age catching up to you when you realize life is really happening for you to get serious. If you live in a daze where every day is taken for granted you will just take the path of least resistance every time.

Also work is soul crushing in general (for most people) and your mind/body need rest from it which is perfectly understandable.

Stop having expectations, stop crushing your optimism like that.
Do things! No thinking!
Do not plan so much!
Literally live in the now, I know it sounds corny but that's the way.
