I work a great job, but I get ass pay ($16/hr). I love my co-workers, the work is fulfilling, and this place got me out of a druggie-filled warehouse job. My sister, however, can MAYBE get me a job for $20/hr. I live with my parents, this money can get me out of there and possibly change my life.

But I love my friends here. Leaving them after only 7 months and on short-notice would be a spit in the face. I cried during work thinking about this; what do?

I wish I were you, being able to get close friends, relate to people, work shit end jobs and be happy with whatever you get.

Just move out, you will make friends elsewhere. Adult life is seeing all the people you know and love drift away.

ADDENDUM
I work blue-collar and would be going white-collar.
I've only worked here for 7 months (but have worked her previously). Both jobs offer yearly raises, but only my blue-collar offers benefits like health/dental/vision.

If you're under the age of 30, go for it. Otherwise it would depend on how seriously you want to move out.

One day at a time. That's how I try and make do with what I got, but honestly, I'm really lucky to even have what I got.

always take higher pay but don't burn bridges with the workplace. give a 2 week notice and give whatever excuse you can to appear reluctant to even leave.

also, i wouldn't make career choices based on how much you like your coworkers. keep in touch with your 'friends' but don't be surprised if eventually they give you dry responses and stop hanging out with you. without proximity there's is less reason to keep in touch, it's why adult friendships are almost impossible to maintain.

You might as well not post anything if you're going to post shit like this
