dinosaurs are lame
when people seethe about feathers and think all new dino media is shit they are just seeing exactly how lame dinosaurs are once they're disconnected from their childhood monster movie nostalgia
>>4994816 (OP)Soulless low budget attempt to profit off the recent success of Prehistoric Planet and the nostalgic brand of WWD
There's absolutely no reason for it to be called Walking With Dinosaurs
>>4994816 (OP)Was it full of the same shit as
>You can't prove their arms weren't dildos
>>4994816 (OP)Putting drag queen eyeliner on a t-rex
>>4994851Yes, the sauropod has dumb inflatable sacks
>>4994816 (OP)Basically everything
>Name is a cashgrab, remake is WWD in name only and nothing connects it to the original everyone loved>Music is forgettable>Narrator is nothing special>Storytelling is weak even without constantly being interrupted. All that ever happened was that herbivores walked around and had to avoid getting eaten, which they usually did because the predator stepped on a fucking twig at the worst possible moment>Paleontology segments were baffling. Killed the pacing of whatever story they were trying to tell and explained very little science behind what was actually going on. Also tried to be diegetic in a way that ultimately made it make even less sense because why the fuck do paleontologists have a 3D printer in the field? Why are they explaining what a T. rex brain is like to each other? Is it everyone's first day on the job? Do they make the same poop jokes every time they find a coprolite? Why didn't they just do regular talking head segments?>Paleontology segments were put in because people are so retarded now that a significant portion of the population think dinosaurs are fictional, but clearly staging all of the dig site footage is only going to strengthen that belief because none of it even feels organic to begin with>Biodiversity is at an all time low, there were max 4 species in any given ecosystem and there's a 50% chance one of those species was Edmontosaurus and another was an azhdarchid pterosaur>Reused models and recycled footage everywhere which only makes the biodiversity factor feel worse>Incredibly jarring stock sound effects compared to the iconic sound design of the original>No practical effects, no gore/uncensored violence. Nothing on the level of the dead T. rex fetus, the bisected Ophthalmosaurus carcass or the cannibalistic Coelophysis. Animals can't even die in a flood without a cut to black.I genuinely have no idea who this documentary is even for. Kids will be as bored to tears as I was.
>>4994895The designs are pretty boring or just straight up lame. You can have display colors that actually look good on the animal just look at nature
>>4994927I think the male Lusotitan was pretty good, but the colors on almost everything else didn't win me over, it was either bland or just looked off. The weird pastels on the Albertosaurus/Gorgosaurus faces never looked right to me even in preview images. I hate to give the movie credit, but the blue Gorgosaurus mog them so hard.
Wasn't the person in charge a Jeet tranny?

>>4994816 (OP)It is a crap generic dinosaur documentary that does not deserve the WWD name. I hope they will stop and not reboot the others Walking with docs, i would rather have nothing than more of this.
>>4994948>>4994950If they made scratch and sniff stickers of those dinos they'd probably smell like curry and feces
>>4994929I hate when they think a good coloration is putting neon colors on the face of an otherwise brown dinosaurs instead of interesting patterns and color theory. They really should have copied the style of the original show
>>4995114This makes it worse. Even this bird you deliberatedly picked for having a mismatched pattern has a more vibrant and better looking aesthetic than any of the dinosaurs in that poster.
>>4995114I said those colorations look like shit not that there are no real animals with such colors, retard

>>4995114The colors here are vibrant and seem a lot more intentional, while the Albertosaurus's pastel face colors feel very washed out and almost like gradients. There's better examples of decorative facial patterns all over paleoart. I hate to invoke it, but even the Valley of the T. rex gigachunk is more visually striking.
>>4994816 (OP)It looks gay and unrealistic asf. The Jurassic rex remains the best reconstruction of the animal. Or the WWD one which is basically the same thing. This bussin purple troon rex looks like a Pixar cartoon.
>>4994816 (OP)>>4994948>>4994950/thread, does anything else more need to be said? we can all go home and not waste our time consooming this pedotroon bile
Must be really bad, because I cant find any torrent/megas.
>>4995114Birds can fly away from any danger, so camouflage doesnt matter much to them. Most flightless birds aren't colorful, barring the cassowary, but they have almost no natural predators, and even then the chicks are very much camouflaged. Dinosaurs that would hunt and be hunted continuously would all need some form of camouflage.
>>4994817This. Also I'm convinced paleontology is all wrong about how ancient animals looked
>>4994817>>4995447That's like saying Jaws 3 is bad because sharks are lame. Most retarded shit I've heard all day.
>>4995114Ok what the fuck happened to the whole "all birds are dinosaurs, but not all dinosaurs are birds" mantra that I heard from your ilk?
That'd be like depicting gigantopithecus as a big human, or smilodon with a calico coat
I'm just curious who this was meant to appeal to? It does not appeal to realismfags or kids that want to see awesome monster fights. The animation is sloppy and you see actual errors on screen, the violence is more sanitized than a nature documentary, the designs are too speculative or just bland and unappealing to look at, every trailer has people demoralized, no one even wants to pirate it, what's the marketing strategy, They aren't allergic to money are they?
>>4994816 (OP)I stand by my assertion that this was more like Dinosaur Planet 2 then WWD 2.
>>4994895>people are so retarded now that a significant portion of the population think dinosaurs are fictionalI'm claiming bullshit on that one. No amount of dopamine burnout can make zoomers THAT fucking stupid.
Prehistoric Planet was a masterpiece. We didn't know how good we had it until WWD came out
Apologise
>>4996594Nope
In no way is it better. In NO way what so ever
Fact: There is nothing wrong with making baseless speculations
To say "Carnotaurus COULD of had used its tiny arms for sexual display" is fine
To say "This sauropod COULD of had inflatable sacks along it's neck for communication and sexual display is fine
To say "This sauropod COULD have has an inflatable ballsack ontop of its head" is not fine only because it is so absurd and ridiculous and stupid looking and not even reasonable
>>4996600>>4996286>>4994929>>4994927>>4994895Say what you want, but the T Rex design is actually one of the best out there. Better then Prehistoric Park's, since it has longer legs and doesn't look overweight.
>>4996647I can agree with that. The "beak-like" lips are fucking retarded tho
>>4996647Also it should have kept the original's coloration
>>4996647>>4996649Honestly, despite the show's flaws, this might be one of the best portrayals T Rex on TV. They didn't hesitate to show it as a cold, brooding, formidable predator throughout its entire screen time, to the point the Triceratops had to make use of its momentary distraction to kill it.
>>4996660>Cold, brooding predatorAh yes, because predators have to look like muh cool evil monsters in order to be predators.
You sound like a 5 year old
>>4996660Being a hunter is all they showed T. rex doing, you’d think there’s nothing else to even being a T. rex, which for all the faults of the original show’s portrayal of T. rex, that wasn’t one of them. And only a fully grown rex can be a threat to this baby Triceratops because the budget is spread so thin we can’t possibly afford a teenage rex model (it would be another Albertosaurus reskin if they did)

>>4996771In fairness, weren't Terrence and Matilda supposed to be teenage rexes?
>>4996771I'm pretty sure he meant Prehistoric Planet
>>4996786Yes but the adults looked basically the same
>>4996788I think the rex model was just recolored for Albertosaurus in the Deinosuchus episode. So I guess the model is meant to be a half and half between the two species which it does an ok job at. At least they bothered to give it a different color scheme unlike 2025’s “Gorgosaurus.”
>>4994816 (OP)A shitty no name documentary with no talent behind it desperately trying to attain some form notoriety by parasitizing off one of the greatest names in the field
>>4994895> Kids will be as bored to tears as I was.So it’s like prehistoric planet?
>>4994816 (OP)They gave dinosaurs feathers for Pride Month and people are tired of it
>>4996649there's a paper apparently in the works based on some prior research that gives credence to the idea of Rex lips being aligned with those of turtles due to foranima density and structure
as is the case for most things nothing will be as good as the original
>>4994816 (OP)No soul. The original used CG to enhance the real puppets and machinery that was employed in the making of the movie.
This is just CG wank with feathers.
