Just found that insect, that I have never saw before, not even in the media. Here, in central Brazil.
What insect is this?
>>5000493 (OP)Probably some kind of lantern fly, think they're in the cicada family and have all sorts of really dumb morphs
In my country this is called "jew bug"
When we spot one we call others over the for the jew bug chant. We link arms and circle the jew bug and sing
"Jew bug
Jew bug
We have you now
Jew bug jew bug
Go get the plow
Jew bug jew bug
Everyone come take a seat
Jew bug jew bug
Looks like a tasty treat!"
Then we move the jew bug off the path and say a prayer for another animal to come eat the bug.
It's the 'swordfish' of the cicadas.
