What if for the next 100 years we selectively bred crows to be the smartest they could possibly be?

Won't happen because most people only care about mammals and would rather spend that time and effort trying to make smarter, longer lived dogs.

if we selectively bred dogs to go from wolves to genetic mutations like chihuahuas or toadline pitbulls, why havent we selectively bred a species not for looks, but for intelligence? I wonder how intelligent you can get a species based on selective breeding. I guess the method of measuring it would complicate things, otherwise you would breed animals capable of just solving mazes and nothing else

They donโ€™t live long enough. We should try it with parrots

There are parrots that are smarter than corvids. Also ravens are smarter than crows.

i saw a crow look both ways and wait for a safe pause before crossing a busy road, they are actively integrating themselves into human society

Crows living in our cities and towns is already us helping them along because smart crows are rewarded by our society

Unfortunately, so are seagulls. Which is a problem, because seagulls are the ultra-violent mcthugnigga of the bird world.

Because we breed animals for utility, and a dumb animal is easier to control than a smart one.

when I woke up this morning and went outside to smoke, the crows were yelling out to each other from all over. like I could tell one was in a tree in one place, two in another tree across the way, and 3 or more in another down the street.
couldn't tell if it was a food call or just checking for other crows, but they all chimes in

i'm going to be honest, the first thing I would do is train them to find loose change and paper money

No matter how intelligent crows become they can't do much if they don't have hands tho, that's why I believe that humans were designed by a superior being there is no way that it would be a coincidence to be so extremely intelligent and at the same time possess a body that allows us to make that intelligence useful.

Them having a short lifetime would make the breeding process faster though

I like to feed them peanuts. A smaller crow that was more timid than a different larger crow actually would gingerly pick one up to hold aloft then sort of trotted away in a hopscotch type pattern. I want them to be my friends.
